It took a five full years to develop Lange's first automatic calibre wristwatch with the patented outsize date and the useful patented zero-reset mechanism. The LANGEMATIK, is the result of the Lange skill in only introducing a fully automatic watch that would be as worthy as the manually wound watches. Self-winding watches were made before by Lange but in smaller numbers, which made them all the more sought-after.In 1997 the wait was over with the introduction of the Langmatik.
